Hello, Dear Friends and Storytellers...

ATTENTION ! Our Story + Grammar!

ENJOY!

May 2020 be sweet to You!

Eh oui ...

"temps bien conjugués" et "pronoms corrects" = + 1 => He said that he was happy. (style direct : he said : "I'm happy" => I transformé en he, am transformé en was)

"temps bien conjugués" et "pronoms corrects" et formes impératives correctes = +1 => She told us not to cry (style direct : She told us : "Don't cry! " => utilisation de l'infinitive)

"temps bien conjugués" et "pronoms corrects" et formes interrogatives correctes = +2 => They asked us if we could lend them a ladder (style direct : They asked us : "can you lend us a ladder? " => utilisation de "if/whether", you transformé en we, us transformé en them, can transformé en could). Vincent asked me who the others were. (style direct : Vincent asked me : "Who are the others?" : inversion sujet/verbe

"temps bien conjugués" et "pronoms corrects" et "oui/ non" remplacés par l'auxiliaire correct = +2 si on emploie un autre verbe que "said"/"told" sinon c'est +1 => he replied that he was. (style direct : he said: "Yes".) I objected/denied I could be; I replied/exclaimed I couldn't have been. (style direct : I said: "No!")

NB : j'inclus les modaux dans les temps bien conjugués (exemple : can-> could ; must -> had to ; may-> might, will->would, needn't-> didn't have to , mais mustn't -> mustn't , had better-> had better)

Yesterday -> The day before, the previous day, The preceding day
Last Monday morning-> The Monday morning before, The previous Monday in the morning, The preceding Monday in the morning
Next year -> The year after, The following year
Tomorrow -> The day after, the following day, The next day
two days ago -> two days before, the preceding two days
In two days -> two days later
Now -> Then, at the moment
Today -> on that day
Tonight -> That night
Here -> There
This -> That voire The
These -> Those

Our Story 71:

Tim’s plane was soon going to land in Leeds; there, he’d meet Uncle Max and told himself
Max would have found a flat for him to work the next day. Then the pilot announced that the storm (3)
would be there that day and that there would be no return flight before the following day. At the airport,... (20) Maxwell-1 (5)
A l'aéroport,...

OHHHHHhhhh .... comme tu me connais mal ...
Le "oui/non" "surnoté" ne l'est pas si tu attends, comme moi : "he replied/ exclaimed/ objected/ he wouldn't/ he hadn't or he couldn't have been" "he denied he could be..."... See what I mean?
