Voici un petit exercice de révision (voir fiche de grammaire sur le site):
Trouvez le comparatif de supériorité.

1-Planes are (fast) trains.
2-My daughter prepares her lessons (carefully) her brother does.
3-The doctor is (busy) he has ever been before.
4-Classical music is (musical) reggae music.
5-The children got up this morning (early) usual.
6-Paris is (big) Tours.
7-Their children are (quiet) we expected.
8-Roller-skating is (funny) fishing.

There's a difference between fun and funny. Roller-skating is fun. Soccer is fun. Science is fun. Fun = agréable. But, a joke is funny. A comedian is funny. Funny = humoristique. (Funny can also mean peculiar or strange).

Fun > more fun > most fun
Funny > funnier > funniest

Fishing is fun.
Roller-skating is MORE FUN than fishing.
Of roller-skating, fishing, and soccer, soccer is the most fun.

Robin Williams is funny.
Robin Williams is funnier than Tom Cruise.
Robin Williams is the funniest comedian.

Tu sais tek-tek, c'est parfait pour faire aussi la différence entre les adjectifs courts et les adjectifs longs en anglais. Et je vois ici un tout petit piège, mais de taille !

à tous ceux qui ont bien voulu faire cet exercice.
Voici la correction et quelques commentaires utiles et nécessaire :
1-Planes are faster than trains.
2-My daughter prepares her lessons more carefully than her brother does.
3-The doctor is busier than he has ever been before.
4-Classical music is more musical than reggae music.
5-The children got up this morning earlier than usual.
6-Paris is bigger than Tours.
7-Their children are quieter than we expected.
8-Roller-skating is funnier than fishing.
9-Credit cards are more convenient than cheques.
10-The students work harder than last year.

Pour la phrase numéro 7, on emploie généralement « more quiet », mais « quieter » fait partie des adjectifs qui pevent aussi avoir la terminaison en –er.
